Insight with Andrew Mueller: I Wouldn't Start from Here

Important: this event has passed!

I Wouldn't Start from Here is the result of Mueller's curiosity to go to some of the most troubled places on earth. An alternative guidebook to the modern world, with dispatches from Africa, Europe, America and the Middle East his book offers snapshots of civil wars, religious conflicts, terrorism and tyrannical dictatorships. He hangs out with the IRA, is arrested for espionage in Cameroon, goes on night patrol in Basra and has hundreds of enlightening (and less enlightening) encounters with the locals.

Andrew Mueller was born in Wagga Wagga, Australia, in 1968. He is now a London-based rock critic, travel writer, foreign correspondent and columnist. He contributes to the Guardian, Independent, Monocle, Arena, The New Humanist and The Times, among others.

James Brabazon read history at Cambridge. As a frontline journalist he has filmed, photographed. produced and directed in the world's most hostile environments.

Brabazon has worked in over 50 countries, including Afghanistan, China, the United States, Ecuador, Eritrea. For the last 10 years, James has travelled extensively through Africa and Asia.
