The eco-cities of China: Can they teach us a lesson?

A Friends of Imperial College joint event with the Department of Civil Engineering and the Imperial College Business School.

Peter Head, Director of Arup, Chairman of the London First Sustainability Unit and Imperial Alumnus will provide his guest lecture entitled: The eco-cities of China: Can they teach us a lesson?

Peter Head leads the team designing the new eco city at Dongtan, the first of a string of self-sustaining urban centres the size of a large western capital. Dongtan, an island in the mouth of the Yangtze river near Shanghai, aims to be three-quarters the size of Manhattan by 2040.

Unfortunately this event is now sold out. However the event is being filmed and you can register for a copy of the film at the Friends of Imperial College website.
